Canadian AVGP Grizzly (Late), 1/35, Trumpeter 01505. PART 2

Hi. I'm back with some new pictures of a Grizzly.
First of all, the whole glueing is done. Every part (almost) is on it's place. So, the time for paint has come.
Firs, of course, the primer. I use Tamiya's Surface Primer sprayed directly from a can.
Some say, the coat comes out very thick. It is, if you'll stop moving your hand while spraying. All you gotta do is act quickly. Rapid moves give you control over coat's thickness.
First layer of paint. That's Pactra's Medium Green airbrushed on whole vehicle.

At this point it looks really dull. Remember when nobody used modulation or any sort of highlighting on their projects?

That was why I quit modelling for a few years. Especially vehicle modelling.

And I am more than happy to get back. Here's some modulation. I used the same Pactra's Medium Green with additions of White or Black paint.

On previous projects my modulation was very light. So after weathering steps it was hardly seeable.

This time I decided to go a little bit heavier.

Looking good in my opinion.

We'll see how it looks in next steps.

But first, of course, decals.

After decals I did a wash.

The effect of modulated paint mixed with wash is really great. I really like it. I certainly hop that you like it, too. Soon more to come. There will be a third part of this Building and Painting the Grizzly and another one, with final look. Enjoy watching.
